Osteopathy for Babies in
Brighton & Hove

Gentle osteopathic treatment for babies can help ease tension and relieve strains that may occur during birth. Even in a smooth delivery, your baby works hard to be born, and this effort can sometimes lead to tight muscles or minor discomfort. If the birth was more challenging, these strains may be greater, affecting your baby’s ability to feed, settle, or digest comfortably.

Osteopathy for Babies

You might notice your baby’s neck feels tighter on one side, their jaw seems restricted, or they appear uncomfortable after feeding. Some babies experience latching or feeding difficulties, digestive issues, or unsettled behaviour — all common reasons parents seek osteopathy for babies in Brighton and Hove.

As an experienced osteopath, I regularly receive referrals from midwives and GPs to support babies with feeding and digestive challenges. Using gentle, safe techniques, I help release tension and restore balance, supporting your baby’s natural comfort and wellbeing.

I also offer guidance for parents on breastfeeding setup, posture, and relieving postural pain that can arise after birth. My aim is to support both you and your baby through this important early stage, helping you both feel more at ease and connected.

Osteopathy for pregnancy and birth

Pregnancy is an incredible journey — but it’s not always comfortable. You might be feeling pelvic girdle pain, aching in your hips, lower back, or across your pubic symphysis. Please know that you don’t have to just put up with it or wait for NHS services — osteopathy can really help, and most people notice an improvement after their very first session.

Osteopathy for pregnancy and birth

I’m based here in Brighton and Hove, and I love helping expectant parents feel more at ease in their changing bodies. During pregnancy, your body is doing amazing things — but sometimes it needs a little extra support. Together, we’ll look at how your muscles and joints are working, and make gentle adjustments to help your pelvis move freely and prepare for birth.

As your baby (or babies!) grow, your body goes through so many changes. My aim is to keep you feeling balanced, mobile, and comfortable so you can enjoy your pregnancy as much as possible.

After birth, I’m here to help your body recover and heal — easing any pain or tightness, and supporting you as things gradually settle back to your pre-pregnancy state. Osteopathy can also help with some of the emotional or physical effects of giving birth, giving your body the care it deserves.

If you’re finding feeding tricky, I can also help with positioning and latch, for breastfeeding support or if bottle feeding, and I work closely with wonderful lactation consultants and feeding coaches in Brighton and Hove, so you’ll always have the right support around you.

Whether your pain or discomfort is from pregnancy, birth, or breastfeeding, I’d love to help you feel more comfortable and at home in your body again.

I warmly welcome all women, trans, and non-binary people

whether you’re pregnant, postpartum, or simply looking for support. My practice is a safe, inclusive space where you’ll always be listened to and treated with kindness.

Testimonials

I can’t thank Frithe enough for the help she has given my 12 year old son. He has hypermobility and before he saw Frithe, had been struggling with ongoing neck, head and shoulder pain and injuries for quite a while. From the moment we met, Frithe was so kind, patient, and understanding — my son felt completely comfortable straight away, which really put me at ease too. The difference after just a few sessions was amazing. His neck is now healed, and he’s regained confidence in how he moves and an awareness of how he holds himself. I’m so grateful for the genuine care and support we’ve received — it’s made such a positive impact on my son’s day-to-day life. I recommend Frithe to everyone! She is someone who truly cares and takes the time to get things right.

Frithe Johnson is the best Cranial Osteopath who has ever treated me. She was particularly helpful physically and emotionally when I broke both of my wrists and left kneecap at the same time. She helped me get my confidence back after such a shock to my body. Thank you Frithe for everything you do to help people overcome their pain and suffering.

JP, Brighton

Frithe treated me for teeth grinding/ Bruxism. She works in a deep, strong and subtle way and she effectively released years of built up tension and helped with a few other things along the way. She’s friendly and really know her stuff. I can highly recomend her.

I went to see Frithe about a knee problem, which turned out to be a meniscus tear, and I also asked her about my ongoing headaches (caused by my work posture, in front of a computer). Frithe immediately understood what the issues were. Her treatment on, and advice about how to deal with, my meniscus made a difference right away. I recovered fully and restarted training within a couple of months. For my headaches Frithe did some cranial osteopathy and gave me some exercises to do to strengthen and relax the muscles around my neck. She also encouraged me to come off the beta blockers that I was on, which I did. My headaches are now much more managable. All of this was done in a super-relaxing environment (I often dozed off during treatment!). Frithe provided just the kind of treatment I needed at the time and I'm very happy to endorse her!

BS, Brighton

Frithe was a nourishing, knowledgeable and supportive practitioner. I attended her warm and calming clinic numerous times across my post partum period and received treatment for both my newborn and myself. Frithe provided insight about my daughters birth and my C-section scar and recovery that was truly insightful and would never have been provided by the NHS. She constantly went out of her way to provide advice and information beyond the session and referred me on to attend Pilates to continue my recovery, which has helped improve my strength and well being greatly. I'm so grateful for finding Frithe and her invaluable services and support in those early post partum days. She's a real credit to the community and I'm constantly recommending her

Frithë is a superstar who came highly recommended by someone whose opinion I hold in very high regard. The issue I presented with was not straightforward but every session helped me through the healing process. There was a complication with other treatment I was undergoing and Frithë referred me onto another therapy more closely aligned with the healing process when appropriate and it really helped. I found Frithë professional, very friendly and highly skilled in her chosen discipline.

Frithë creates a calm space with gentle confidence. Craniosacreal therapy is so grounding, and Frithë really worked with my body to reset and realign me. A must for me. Thanks for your great treatments.
