What is Osteopathy?

"To find health should be the object of the doctor.
Anyone can find disease."

Osteopathy is a gentle,
hands-on approach

Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on approach that helps your body release tension, improve mobility, and support its natural self-healing. Safe for most people — from newborns to pregnant people, elders and people approaching the end of life — it addresses pain, discomfort, and restrictions to bring you back into balance.

Osteopaths are NHS-recognised Allied Health Professionals, trained over 4 years to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of health issues. We use our detailed knowledge of anatomy, and how the body works in health and dis-ease alongside our highly skilled, sensitive sense of touch to bring about ease and restore mobiliy.

Meet Frithe Johnson

Registered Osteopath

Hello, I’m Frithe

a Registered Osteopath (GOsC) and full member of the Institute of Osteopathy. I have over 13 years of clinical experience helping people reconnect with their body’s natural vitality. My work draws on advanced post graduate training in women’s health, paediatric, and cranial osteopathy, and a deep love for the biodynamic approach.

My treatments are gentle and deeply attentive. I see the body as a living expression of health — even when it’s struggling — and I work to help it find its natural balance again. Many people describe their sessions as grounding, restorative, and quietly transformative. Mobility improves, pain and discomfort subsides and people are more comfortable.

My passion for osteopathy began from personal experience. When my child underwent a liver transplant and later faced non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, osteopathic treatment played a huge role in supporting us both through that time. He’s now a strong and thriving young man — even a world champion transplant sport sprinter for Team GB!

When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll probably find me out in the wild, spending time with my husband, dog, or happily splashing about in the water whenever I get the chance.

A bit about my background:
